Description
My Little Book of Typography & Design Quotes that I designed as part of a project in my Typography 2 course.

The goal of the project was to find a couple of quotes from the typeface designer, Zuzana Licko, whom I’d researched for another project in the course, pick one of these quotes, and design a poster or some other type of printed matter that showcased this quote and this typeface designer’s sensibilities.

For this project I decided go few steps further and use several quotes in order to explore as many of the different Émigré typefaces as I could out of excitement into the research that I’d done into this typographer and Émigré, the design firm that Zuzana Licko belongs to. The best format I could think of at the time to house this exploration was the book format in homage to Émigré Magazine, which the design firm Zuzana Licko co-founded with Rudy Vanderlans is famous for. The vintage colors of the pages and the fact that they were all Émigré fonts really held the book together. Each page has a playful and experimental quality like that of Émigré magazine and typeface designs.
