Description
CVA Prospective Parent & Student Brochure I designed as part fo a project in my Communication Design III course.

The goal of this project was to develop a brochure for prospective students and parents of these students looking into attending, the college I attended, The College of Visual Arts (CVA). The brochure had to give both the students and parents the information that they needed and an idea of what it’s like to attend CVA.

I decided to design and produce the brochure in the format of a book because of the school’s unstated requirement that every student learn the book arts and because of the amount of information that I needed to convey. The concept was that it would be like a photo-album/scrapbook style tour of the school to showcase the unique historic campus. Consequently the photographs I used in the brochure were of CVA’s historic buildings, the landmarks around campus, student work, trips overseas, etc., which I made look like they were held in place with photo corners. The copy was from the student handbook and the CVA website. I used the typface Filosofia because I thought that it really encompassed the personality of the students and school, which are a little unusual yet based on a very historic foundation.
